1.  Make your home anonymous.  Your home should be sparsely furnished and should look like anyone could walk in off the street and live there. Remove clutter from shelves, counters, tables, drawers, closets and basements.  This way the buyer can actually see your perfect home and not have to try to visualize what may be hiding behind the clutter.

3.  The kitchen is the most important room in the house to declutter. Put away the coffee pot, the toaster, clean out drawers and pantries.  Buyers want to be sure there is enough storage that all of their "stuff" will fit.
