Located in the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum is Austin’s only IMAX Theater. The theatre seats 400 persons and uses the innovative and visually stunning IMAX technology to create the ultimate film experience. It is also unique in that unlike many IMAX theaters that are equipped with a 2-d projector the theater in the Austin is equipped with a 2-D and a 3-D projector. The theater is independent of the History Museum and has its own separate entrance. The lobby is a very distinctive and dramatic space, the perfect invitation to all of the drama of the huge IMAX screen.
