This unique, important art museum is an integral part of the University of Texas at Austin. It is also the principal museum for this metropolitan area and is dedicated to offering the community, rich and versatile art collections of many different mediums.
The permanent collection boasts European paintings of Italian Renaissance and Baroque by masters such as Parmigianino, Rubens and Guercino. It also houses a remarkable collection of prints, drawings, and sculptures of American art dating from 1875 through present day. There is also a wonderfully comprehensive Latin American art collection of over 2,000 works of art representing more than 600 artists from Mexico, South and Central America as well as the Caribbean. In addition, the museum has over 13,000 prints including works from Durer, Rembrandt, Goya and Picasso.
