The Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute is launched Today
St. David’s Medical Center is investing 36 million dollars to create a heart rhythms disorder treatment center. $22 million dollars is earmarked for the creation of a new patient wing, which is at the moment still in the design phase. This wing will handle hundreds of more patients a year. The new center will provide treatments to patients but also offer cutting edge training to doctors from around the world who specialize in heart rhythm disorders.
The new Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute will be headed by world-renowned Dr. Andrea Natale, a pioneer in treating atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation is an irregular rhythm in the upper chambers of the heart that happens when electrical signals in the heart become chaotic. This occurs in more than 2 million people in this county and can lead to stroke.
St. David’s Medical Center offer a talented team of specialists, a supportive hospital and a vision of training doctors from around the world. These traits combined with the knowledge and experience of Dr. Andrea Natalie will transform heart care in central Texas.
