A new 300-room Westin Hotel will soon be visible on the Austin skyline. Two San Antonio-based companies purchased the site, on the corner of Third and Colorado in the Warehouse district, in 2002. According to the Austin Business Journal, the site is a little over an acre, and used to be home to the Bitter End bar.
The new hotel will feature extensive meeting space, a spa, a restaurant, bar, and pool. And, in keeping with Austin’s transition and dedication to green living, "the team hopes [the hotel] will achieve LEED certification for its sustainable design."
