AICA-USA awarded the "Best Thematic Show Nationally" for The Geometry of Hope: Latin American Abstract Art from the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection. The Blanton Museum received this award at a ceremony at the Guggenheim Museum on March 17.
The New York Times also gave the exhibit a nod by calling it a "must-see for anyone interested in modern art" This exhibit is one of the world’s best collection of Latin American artwork. The focus of the exhibit is to examine the visual vocabulary of Geometric Abstraction as it developed in South America between 1930 and 1970.
The museum’s curator of Latin America art, Gabriel Perez-Barreiro organized this dynamic and engaging exhibition.
