Hyde Park was originally developed in 1891 and combines its urban influences with historical preservation. The architecture of this neighborhood ranges from large Tudor-style mansions to modern condos with everything in-between.
The northern border of Hyde Park is 48th Street and the University of Texas. The east border is created by Duval, the west by Guadalupe and the southern borer is marked by 36th.
Hyde Park is only five minutes from downtown and it is half residential and half commercial. It is home to more than 14,000 residents.
Although located in downtown Austin it is still a small, friendly neighborhood and children attend the excellent Austin Independent School District.
