According to a recent report in Forbes.com, economists looking into the financial future of 2008 have some nice things to say about Texas, including Austin. The forecasts show that cities in Texas are continuing to generate more jobs than the dwindling national average.
The rankings are determined by weighing equally unemployment rates, job growth, income growth, median household income, and cost of living. Then, Forbes.com uses these qualifiers to rank 100 major metropolitan areas.
Although Salt Lake City ranked number one (again), the sheer quantity of four cities in the top 11 means Texas is a standout. And destination cities like New York and Los Angeles? Ranked 58 and 87 respectively.
