Austin Texas Tops List of Best Cities

A recent list by the prestigious Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine has placed Austin Texas at the top of a list of cities for the next ten years.  The four criteria for the top city search involved population, unemployment, income and affordability.  Austin Texas has a nurturing business climate that is attractive to both small and large business.  Technology is big in Austin, with companies like Apple and Facebook having a presence as well as many small companies.  Ten cities made Kiplinger’s list “10 Best Cities For the Next Decade”: Austin TX, Washington D.C., Seattle WA, Boulder CO, Salt Lake City UT, Rochester MN, Des Moines IA, Burlington VT, West Hartford CT, and Topeka KS.

The list of five cities is topped by Austin Texas, a city that is attracting businesses, both large and small.  The Texas city has an energy and lifestyle that is appealing to a young generation and is a great environment in which to start a new business or begin life after college.  Austin real estate and its economy has weathered the economic storm of the past couple of years relatively unscathed and is beginning a new era in a great position, at the top.
