holding at 8.2%, less than the national average which is roughly 9.5%. This data is not surprising considering many of Texas’ metropolitan areas are showing a strong position in resisting the recession. Austin had a 7.4% jobless rate in June and has a 7.3% preliminary rate for July. According to the data that was released by the Texas Workforce Commission private employers have been adding jobs throughout 2010.
