Austin real estate market continues to outperform the rest of the country.
The second quarter of 2008 revealed that Austin-area median real estate prices rose by more than 4 percent. During this same period the rest of the country’s median home prices fell 7.6 percent. This information was tracked by the National Association of Realtors.
Amarillo Texas boasts first place, leading all other metropolitan areas with a 7.2 percent median home price increase, followed by Austin and then El Paso. The National Association of Realtors also believes that the strong momentum of home sales in Texas will continue especially in the light of the new housing stimulus package passed by congress.
