A recent study reported in the Austin Business Journal rates Austin as one of the top metropolitan areas for online job advertisements. Nationally, the average was 2.3 advertised vacancies per every 100 empoyable people. However, in Austin the average jumped to 5.07 per 100. The average was just below Milwaukee and San Jose, making Austin third in the areas researched.
The number of online jobs advertised in Austin jumped 19.7% in December 2007 compared with December 2006. Nationally, that percentage was just 6%.
