The Hyatt hotel will be closing December 22 through January 2 for continued renovations. Before selling the 17 story hotel last April, Fairfield Residential, LLC, spent $8 million to renovate the 448 guest rooms.
Now, new owners Tantallon LLC will spend another $17 million to remove the winding stream that runs through the hotel’s lobby bar, along with other improvements. According to the American-Stateman, visitors can expect "a new casual cafe with outdoor seating, a renovated business center and a new 24-hour fitness facility."
The Hyatt improvements mean that Austin residents will have yet another classy place to share with visiting family and friends.
