A quarterly index report recently released proves that Austin-area homes are still a great investment. The report, released by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, ranks Austin home market number seven in the nation in price appreciation.
According to the Austin Business Journal, sales have slowed in Austin and across the country, mostly among buyers hoping to enter the real estate market. The good news, however, is that Austin’s home prices have increased by 9.6 percent over the last year.
The national real estate market is showing a decrease in home prices for the first time in 13 years. However, with only a handful of markets showing positive numbers this year, stability in real estate investing continues in Austin.
